A piece of Hong Kong street food can be in your freezer, too!

This treat means so much to me that I even developed a recipe for it in my second cookbook.

When I learned about Trader Joe’s bubble waffles, my excitement was palpable (I squealed).

It was clear that these waffles were in high demand.

This doesnt surprise me.

For $4.49, you get four four-inch frozen waffles per box.

Now, while these waffles have a chewy mochi-like middle, they arent gluten-free since they contain wheat flour.

Trader Joes prefers them air-fried but also offers instructions on using the toaster oven or microwave.

I enjoyed the air-fried and toasted versions more.

These bubble waffles are also legit in terms of aesthetics and smell.

And being on the smaller side, these waffles go down fast.

Before I knew it, I had finished one and moved on to a second.

(Justified, though, because I was testing them for this article!)

Now I realize theyre named this way for their shapeseach waffle bubble resembles a little brown egg.

While these bubble waffles are not exactly like the ones from my childhood, theyre a fun modern twist.
