This easy 30-minute recipe comes straight from my great-grandmothers cookbook.
Several years ago, Nanny gifted me with one of her mothers (my great-grandmothers) cookbooks.
One of the check-marked recipes is these butterscotch squares.

Old-Fashioned Blondies
In essence, these squares areblondiesby another name.
I love to make them in one large bowl, mixing with a wooden spoonno mixer required!
Theyre not fancy by any means, but theyre wonderfully chewy with a slight crispiness on the outer crust.

In a medium mixing bowl, mix the warm melted butter with the brown sugar until combined.
If needed, let the mixture cool for a few minutes to lukewarm, then mix in the egg.
