Add the eggs one at a time, beating just until the yellow color disappears after each addition.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.

Repeat adding the remaining flour mixture and milk in 3 more additions, ending with flour mixture.

Spoon the batter into the prepared pan and spread it into an even layer.

Remove the pan from oven and place on a wire rack.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Place the wire rack over the top of the pan and invert the cake onto the rack.
