This year, 2023, marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of Simply Recipes.

Back in 2003 when I first created the site, I was 42 years old.
My parents are both excellent home cooks, by necessity.
They raised six kids on a state workers salary.

Hence, Simply Recipes was born.
Home cooks feed humanity, every day.
We home cooks aim to provide well-balanced meals to nourish ourselves and our families.

We are often constrained by budget, time, and available ingredients.
Are there recipes on the site that you like so much theyre now in the rotation"?
If so, great!
That is exactly our aim.
Cooking is so much more fun when you do it with others, dont you think?
When we cook together we learn from each others experience and expertise.
Less and less is home cooking considered womens work, taken for granted.
What a welcome development, right?
Guys son and daughter-in-law have a new baby girl who is just now starting on solids.
I make it with kale and add lemon zest.
Its so vibrant and green, and easy to make!
Ive even used it as a substitute for tomato sauce in my vegetarian mushroom lasagna.
