Do these retro cottage cheese biscuits stand the test of time?
Ive never met a biscuit I didnt like.
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 425F.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cayenne pepper and celery seed.
Cut butter into dry ingredients with a pastry blender until the mixture looks like coarse cornmeal.
Add the cottage cheese and milk.
Mix with a fork or wooden spoon.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured board and knead gently.
I recommend having at least 1/4 cup of flour in a small pile on the side of your board.
Add extra flour, as needed, a little bit at a time, until the doughjuststops being sticky.
Roll dough about 1/2-inch thick and cut into biscuits.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until brown.
Cool for at least 5 minutes, then serve hot, warm or at room temperature.
Theyre crispy on the outside, and soft, pillowy and perfectly moist on the inside.
(For long-term storage, wrap individually and store in the freezer.)
