Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds, then give it a stir.

Whisk vigorously until there are no lumps.
Whisk the egg yolks in a medium sized bowl.

Lower the heat to medium, and heat the base until it reaches 170F.
At this point the base will have thickened slightly and will just be getting steamy again.
Stir in the remaining cup of cold cream to prevent further cooking.
